As the UI/UX designer for an innovative startup venture consisting of detectives and a CTO who specializes in software development, I am leading the design of an intuitive and powerful investigation app aimed at revolutionizing the field of digital forensics.

Simplifying processes with integrated solutions

In today’s digital landscape, the process of conducting thorough investigations, both digital and physical, is hindered by outdated software tools, manual web scraping, and sluggish interfaces.

The aim of developing this app is to simplify and accelerate this process by integrating all essential functionalities into one smart platform. From data scraping to analysis, it streamlines every step of the workflow, saving time and enhancing productivity.

Diverse applications of the investigation app

This investigation app serves a wide range of users, including law enforcement agencies, detectives, forensics teams, and national security operations. Additionally, it expands its usefulness beyond traditional investigation fields to cover bank and insurance fraud detection, along with thorough background checks, making it valuable across different sectors and situations.

The research phase

I conducted thorough research on existing investigative tools, competitors, and user needs. Using personas, I crafted user flows and journeys to guide the design process.

Designing the prototype

Translating these insights into action, I used Figma to create a visually compelling dashboard that serves as the heart of the investigative app. With a focus on usability and functionality, I carefully crafted each element to deliver a seamless user experience.

This resulted in a clickable prototype that brings the solution to life, allowing stakeholders to experience the flow and functionality firsthand. By presenting these prototypes, I facilitated meaningful discussions and gained valuable feedback to further refine the design.

User testing

With this comprehensive prototype in hand, at this stage we are diligently engaging in qualitative feedback and interview sessions from potential users. By incorporating user-centered design principles, we are refining the app’s interface to ensure seamless navigation and optimal user experience.

Our design process involves several key phases, including user research, where we delve deep into the needs and pain points of investigators, prototyping to visualize and iterate on design concepts, and usability testing to validate our design decisions.

With the support of investors, we are ready to move forward this app’s development, with a keen focus on delivering a solution that enables investigators to navigate the complexities of their digital investigations more efficiently and effectively.
